Honorable job of creating for a series of six stamps for the Dutch post Post.nl. A dream assignment in which I was given total freedom to transform the festive theme of “cakes” and “pastries” into a stamp sheet. I was able to extensively showcase my fondness for lavish still lifes here. A lemon meringue tart, a cassata cake, and a classic mocha cake. Large cakes stand on platters. Smaller ones lie on saucers. The stamps are anything but square or rectangular. The free form of the stamps follows the contours of the cake and tableware. As a result, every detail stands out. An invitation to pick at this stamp sheet, to smell it (yes, it has a scent), and to send a card or letter.

It has been such a privilege to make this special illustration for the royal Dutch bicycle factory Gazelle founded in 1892. A tile tableau located in the beautiful new Gazelle experience center at the heart of the original old factory. I was asked to make the design for the tile wall. To commemorate and honor the tile tableaus presented as a gift by the factory workers in 1927. Its a modern take on the tile walls made by graphic artist Andre Vlaanderen back in 1927.

Honorable assignment for the Stedelijk Museum in Breda. A series of portraits and backgrounds for the permanent exhibition about the Oranje Nassaus (Dutch royal family) and their ties ith the city of Breda. The illustrations are part of a educational treasure hunt for children.

StudioGarcia has been commissioned for various exceptional special projects that need a category of their own.

A series of poststamps created for the Dutch post offices. A limited edition and not the average shaped stamp. The theme is pies and cakes from all over the world.

A tile tableau created for the Gazelle Bicycle Factory Experience Centre in Dieren — Gazelle, the royal Dutch bicycle manufacturer founded in 1892, commissioned this large-scale illustrated wall as a modern tribute to the original tile tableaus gifted by factory workers in 1927, themselves designed by graphic artist André Vlaanderen. StudioGarcia designed the complete tile wall illustration honouring that heritage with a contemporary illustrative style.

Stedelijk Museum Breda commisioned for their permanent exhibition dedicated to the House of Oranje-Nassau and their historic ties with the city of Breda a series of illustrations. The illustrations depict Renaissance-era figures in authentic period costume and form part of an educational treasure hunt for children visiting the museum.
