I'm Jose Luis Garcia Lechner, an Amsterdam-based illustrator with thirty years of experience creating images that people actually stop and look at.
StudioGarcia is my studio, my ivory tower, and my laboratory. Since 1996 I have worked as a full-time illustrator — drawing, painting and lettering for magazines, books, packaging, advertising campaigns, and everything in between. My style is rooted in mid-century illustration, warmed up with colour and brought alive with texture. It is distinctive, human and purposely hand-crafted in a world full of generated imagery.
I specialise in food illustration, editorial illustration and packaging design — work that lives at the intersection of art and appetite. Whether it's a cover for Elle Food, label artwork for a craft brewery, or a full campaign for a brand launching in new markets, my illustrations bring warmth, character and appetite to the page and the shelf.
